Temporary Public Sculpture

Made a wee polyhedron sculpture, and yesterday took it from the studio (that's the one with the white door)...

...to one of Aberdeen's nice tree-filled parks nearby:

'Grey Polyhedron' 1.3x1.6x1.5m, wood, cardboard, paint

Checked on it today. Man, that must have been some heavy rain!

Space Octopus

Was just reminiscing about the awesome time I had last year working on the mural at limousine bull with Brian Ross and Colin Robison. Anyone up for an autumn collaboration?

This is a painting Bri and I worked on while the show was running - it and the large mural are in storage if anyone has an idea where we could ressurect it?

Itchee Wasp @ NEOS

In September I took part in a group exhibition curated by Itchee Wasp for the annual North East Open Studios art event in Aberdeenshire. We were showing in a vacant shop unit in the Academy shopping centre.

Random review of 09, so far...

Been going through photos from the past year, here's a random selection of what's been happening:

This is actually from about 1 year ago... an extremely small, fluffy and cute Henrietta, cat of my friend Mo.

Brian Ross had a solo show at Hamnavoe back in Jan...

Donny, Mo, Chris and Allison were there

In spring we went to Germany for a few days, stopping in Liepzig and Berlin...

Obligatory Berlin Wall photo

Kauf dich Glucklich cafe... best pint of Weihenstephan I ever did have

...and the cool wee birds

1 litre flagons - woozy!

Breakfast in the Cafe Wintergarten at the Literaturhaus. Berlin has some creative buskers - a guy came into the gardens and bellowed some shakespeare from memory for a good 20 mins.

Holocaust memorial

Brandenburg gate

A decaying Swoon wheatpaste in Prenzlauer Berg...

...and Katherine Grosse at the Temporäre Kunsthalle

Lots of nice parks in Berlin...

The fantastic Dolores restaurant, the closest you'll get to a proper SF Mission burrito in Europe I reckon...

Had dinner one night in an amazing little restaurant called Zur Rose...

In July I got married to my amazing lady Allison. We had a 'pre-wedding' beach party at Balmedie near Aberdeen:

Then we ran off to get hitched in San Francisco:

Followed by a week in paradise at Tulum, Mexico, where we stayed in a cabana on the beach. Good times...

Back in Aberdeen, we've had some nights of this:

Followed by some mornings of this:

...the biggest cake portions in town at the Breadmakers

And last weekend my beautiful wife and I went berry picking...

mmm, blackberries!
