The first linocut print from my super-expensive 'back-of-a-pudding-spoon' press. This is Brian, who didn't recognise himself when I showed it to him...

Here's a pic of the layout model for the public art commission which I didn't get in the end. Damn it.

It was a good project to work on though, and it was good to get the experience of presenting a proposal to a panel... hopefully I won't sweat so much next time!

A community art project I taught at a school in Aberdeen won an award! Check out the article, sadly no mention of my name but i did do it, honest guv!

Well, just finished the public painting project with Brian today. It was excellent fun - I totally recommend collaborating with other artists as a way to boost energy for your own work... It turned out to be a sweet, sunny day and a few friends stopped by to see what we were up to. It was done on found cardboard with old house paint and acrylic.

This pic shows the mural after we stopped (about 6 hours of work). I think I liked it a little better about 1-2 hours before this, but it was more about having fun and just being out painting on a sunny sunday. Luckily, our good friend Jon Reid recorded the whole process and is making a time-lapse film for us.

Its a nerve-racking day today... I'm waiting to hear if I got a public art commission I was short-listed for at the new train station in Aberdeen. My idea was to build two 3 metre concrete sound mirrors to sit across from each other in a civic square.

Really excited to work with my good friend Brian on a collaborative mural this sunday at a park in Aberdeen. We'll be building a big cardboard wall and getting crazy all over that sucker...

Just started working on some little linocuts. Never really done it before, but thought i'd give it a go. This is from a photo of a hardy Aberdeen surfer taken last summer near Fittie.

Just finished making this interactive tree sculpture. Its for a playground near where I live - you can throw balls into the branches and they activate some honkers inside before shooting out of the holes at the bottom.

my sweet lady's fingernail with a mysterious mountain shape....

ha, its been a long time since i wrote anything here, i'm a lazy, lazy man.

anyway, here's my brother Andrew, wearing a sweet mask he found on la rambla, barcelona while we were there for his stag weekend.
